Getting Back to Brittney in 2015
I started this blog in 2011 and I absolutely loved being able to write about things that I learned and found intersting. I never cared about about who read it or if no one ever read it at all. With that being said during 2012-2014 I found myself getting so overwhelmed in my day to day working life that I soon stopped doing the things that I loved. Well now here I am at the end of 2015 and I realize the importance of me doing the things that I enjoy again. I always loved looking up youtube videos, researching easy at home projects online, whether it be beauty, dealing with stress, crafting, or just me blabbing lol ;-). I've made the committment to myself to get back to doing the things that I love as a healthy outlet for me to express myself. And I must say that I feel better already. But there is definitely alot for me to learn. So much has changed over past few years with blogging, there are so many cool fancy blogs out there and mine is well behind and outdated. So some changes are underway and I'm excited to learn and revamp some things. It's time for me to have some fun again!

Grape Goodness
Grapes are little bursts if antioxidants. Antioxidants can be very helpful in the prevention or slowing of cancer cells. Antioxidants can help prevent our cells from damage caused by free radicals, which are unstable molecules. Damage caused by free radicals can lead to cancer. Studies have shown that antioxidants can either reduce and in some cases prevent the development of cancer :-)
Quick Fun Fact****
-Grapes are rich in antioxidants, which can are mainly found in the leaf, skin, seeds, and stem ( Grogan,2011). So start eating some of those grape stems that we all toss in our trash lol :-), it good stuff inside.

How to avoid ugly hair color grow outs!!!! Tips on making choices to avoid them!
Many ladies love the results of adding color or changing the color of their hair. Whether or not your going for a subtle look or a dramatic look, no one wants to deal with the ugly grow out stage, where your forced to either recolor, bleach, or look crazy until the color reaches a safe length to trim off. Here are two options to consider when making your decision!
- Go for the Ombre' highlight or lowlight. This is where your highlight or lowlight is intentionally placed away from your root area, it can be placed midstrand or on the tips of your hair. This effect is demonstrated above in the first two photos.
- Combination of highlights & lowlights. If you plan to go a few shades lighter, instead of making it an all over application, incorporate lowlights of your natural shade or a shade very close to your natural shade. This will help prevent your grow out roots from being obvious because your lowlights if placed correctly will conceal your roots! This is demonstrated in the last photo above!
I hope these tips will be helpful!

3 quick ways to relieve Stress from the work day!
Feeling stressed? whether you have had a stressful day at work or are having a stressful day here are 3 quick tips to help get you back on track to finish off your day on a positive note.
1. Take a walk on your lunch break. Believe it or not by getting in at
least a 15 minute walk will help clear your mind and refresh your body. You feel more level headed and get a burst of energy.
2.Take lunch alone. Sometimes when having a stressful day at work, being around's others may take away from your opportunity to clear your head. Take 30 minutes to eat alone and think positive thoughts, so that you can get back on track mentally to finish up your day.
3. This tip is my favorite, Play hooky or leave work early! yep that's right take a mental day off from work or school. Call in sick or leave sick and relax at home in the bed or lounge on your couch watching tv. Sometimes our mind and body just needs to take a break from it all and relax.
I hope that some of these tips you all can find to be helpful. I personally use these regularly and they help get through a tiresome or stressful day, when your just feeling blah. So be sure to give them a shot.

Issues with Oily Skin?
So over the past 8 months I have noticed a significant difference in my skin. Up until now I have always had normal skin it was never to dry and and it was never to oily. Now towards the end of my day my face feels as though I lathered in oil. Not at all a good feeling and definitely not something that's easy to get used to. So I did a little research on the web and found these couple tips to help me out and I'll share it with you!

- Cleanse your face (no brainer right?!) , but do not over cleanse, no more than twice a day is necessary unless activities such as exercising call for it. Your body's production of oil is natural and by over cleansing you could actually cause your skin to produce even more oil than before, and we don't want that!
- Clay or mud masks.Beauty experts say that by doing clay or mud mask treatments it can temporarily pull oil from pores and soak it up. This will in turn leave your face feeling clean and refreshed for several hours after.
- Oil blotting papers (My favorite!). You can find these handy little helpers at any local drug store and or grocery store cosmetic aisle. They come in several different types and can be spotted either by your facial washes or with the make-up and cosmetics!

Make-up Brushes vs. Paint Brushes
So do you love make-up brushes but you can't afford to spend lots of money on them? Well this may be an answer to your problem. Try going to your local arts and crafts store and check out some paint/art brushes and you just might be surprised that some (not all) art brushes are very similar to some make-up brushes, but for a lot cheaper. So before you purchase that make-up brush saw at your cosmetic store, go down to your local arts and crafts store, and see what you find. Good luck!

Want your hair to have beautiful flowing body waves? Here's how! Great for all lengths.
Depending on the size waves you want, choose a curling iron that fits accordingly. For example I love my waves to be small to medium sized because it works better on my length which is right about my shoulders. So I always use a small to medium sized curling iron barrel. Once you have your curling iron of choice, spiral curl your entire head. Spray your curls with a light holding spray. Then take a paddle brush or wide tooth comb and lightly comb through your curls. There you have, your look is complete!
