How to avoid ugly hair color grow outs!!!! Tips on making choices to avoid them!

Many ladies love the results of adding color or changing the color of their hair. Whether or not your going for a subtle look or a dramatic look, no one wants to deal with the ugly grow out stage, where your forced to either recolor, bleach, or look crazy until the color reaches a safe length to trim off. Here are two options to consider when making your decision!
- Go for the Ombre' highlight or lowlight. This is where your highlight or lowlight is intentionally placed away from your root area, it can be placed midstrand or on the tips of your hair. This effect is demonstrated above in the first two photos.
- Combination of highlights & lowlights. If you plan to go a few shades lighter, instead of making it an all over application, incorporate lowlights of your natural shade or a shade very close to your natural shade. This will help prevent your grow out roots from being obvious because your lowlights if placed correctly will conceal your roots! This is demonstrated in the last photo above!

I hope these tips will be helpful!

3 quick ways to relieve Stress from the work day!

Feeling stressed? whether you have had a stressful day at work or are having a stressful day here are 3 quick tips to help get you back on track to finish off your day on a positive note.

1. Take a walk on your lunch break. Believe it or not by getting in at
least a 15 minute walk will help clear your mind and refresh your body. You feel more level headed and  get a burst of energy.

2.Take lunch alone. Sometimes when having a stressful day at work, being around's others may take away from  your opportunity to clear your head. Take 30 minutes to eat alone and think positive thoughts, so that you can get back on track mentally to finish up your day.

3. This tip is my favorite, Play hooky or leave work early! yep that's right take a mental day off from work or school. Call in sick or leave sick and relax at home in the bed or lounge on your couch watching tv. Sometimes our mind and body just needs to take a break from it all and relax.

I hope that some of these tips you all can find to be helpful. I personally use these regularly and they help get through a tiresome or stressful day, when your just feeling blah. So be sure to give them a shot.

Issues with Oily Skin?

So over the past 8 months I have noticed a significant difference in my skin. Up until now I have always had normal skin it was never to dry and and it was never to oily. Now towards the end of my day my face feels as though I lathered in oil. Not at all a good feeling and definitely not something that's easy to get used to. So I did a little research on the web and found these couple tips to help me out and I'll share it with you!
  • Cleanse your face (no brainer right?!) , but do not over cleanse, no more than twice a day is necessary unless activities such as exercising call for it. Your body's production of oil is natural and by over cleansing you could actually cause your skin to produce even more oil than before, and we don't want that!
  • Clay or mud masks.Beauty experts say that by doing clay or mud mask treatments it can temporarily pull oil from pores and soak it up. This will in turn leave your face feeling clean and refreshed for several hours after.
  • Oil blotting papers (My favorite!). You can find these handy little helpers at any local drug store and or grocery store cosmetic aisle. They come in several different types and can be spotted either by your facial washes or with the make-up and cosmetics!
I hope that some of these tips help you all out there who are suffering from oily skin like me. Have a good one!

Make-up Brushes vs. Paint Brushes

So do you love make-up brushes but you can't afford to spend lots of money on them? Well this may be an answer to your problem. Try going to your local arts and crafts store and check out some paint/art brushes and you just might be surprised that some (not all) art brushes are very similar to some make-up brushes, but for a lot cheaper. So before you purchase that make-up brush saw at your cosmetic store, go down to your local arts and crafts store, and see what you find. Good luck!

Want your hair to have beautiful flowing body waves? Here's how! Great for all lengths.

Depending on the size waves you want, choose a curling iron that fits accordingly. For example I love my waves to be small to medium sized because it works better on my length which is right about my shoulders. So I always use a small to medium sized curling iron barrel. Once you have your curling iron of choice, spiral curl your entire head. Spray your curls with a light holding spray.  Then take a paddle brush or wide tooth comb and lightly comb through your curls. There you have, your look is complete!

Having an issue with dull looking skin? This could be your solution!

So I'm sure we've all suffered from dull looking skin at some point in time in our lives, but if not why not start preventive care. Who wants to always have to apply blush or bronzer to give your face a natural healthy glow, when it can be truly be a "natural healthy glow"! Here are a few tips to get your skin on the right path to looking healthy and beautiful!
  • Drink at least 3 to 4 bottles of 16 fl oz of water daily. ( that's your average personal bottle size)
  • Facial massage- While cleansing, exfoliating, and moisturizing your face give yourself a facial massage! Use gentle stroking and light kneading movements. This will get your blood circulating in your face to help get that natural glow we all love!
  • And of course eat healthy, or at least incorporate a cup or two of fruits and veggies a day to get on a path towards eating better!

Cool Benefits of Celery!!!!!!!!!

So we've all had celery in our fridge at some point or another, but have we ever took the time to learn some of it's benefits?? ! Well celery has been proven to help lower blood pressure.! Not only does it help lower blood pressure it also acts as a natural laxative and aids in relieving constipation.  Another cool celery fact I found interesting is that celery helps to normalize body temperature! So when the weather is hot and dry drink at least 2 glasses of celery juice, to help your body cool off!! So everyone get out your blenders and pop in a couple celery sticks! :-)    ~BrittneyDanielle

Natural 2 in 1 face Mask/ exfoliant !

Create your own exfoliating facial mask with things you probably already have at home or would be cheaper to purchase than buying products from your local drug store. Eggs yolks and brown sugar!! Mix 2 egg yolks with 2 table spoons of brown sugar and lightly mix the two. Gently massage onto your face to exfoliate then once you've massaged it on your face for about 1-2 minutes, let it sit on your face. The egg yolks will eventually dry and tighten into a mask. Let it sit for 10-15 minutes or for however long you feel comfortable. Rinse and towel dry to reveal healthy, soft, & smooth skin!

Who says eye shadow is only for eyes! Not me! :-)

Doing your make-up and realize you don't have the lip gloss shade to match! Save money and exclude a trip to the store! Take your favorite eye shadow and mix it with your favorite clear lip gloss! There you have it , the perfect shade of your choice!  ~Brittney Danielle

Tip of the day - Mascara!

Here's a mascara tip that I use often. When low on time while getting dressed , you may need to try different techniques to save time on applying make-up. While applying mascara to lashes wiggle your wand at the base of your lashes and continue to coat mascara upward. Repeat until you have applied the amount of coats for your preference. This will give the appearance of eyeliner on your top eye lids! Waaaaa Laaaaaaa you've just applied mascara and eye liner in one step! ~ BrittneyDanielle

My first post!

So I've always enjoyed giving advice to others. It just feels good to be able to help others. Not only have I always enjoyed giving advice, I love make-up, I love hair, and I love everything about skin care. And I thought to myself why not start a blog and mesh all the things I love into one place where others can also enjoy the things I love :-) . Above is a photo of a smokey pink eye shadow look I created that was inspired by barbie and hello kitty with pink and black! ~ Brittney Danielle
